Te Puke No 2 Rd and No 1 Rd Loop

About this ride:
Area: Te Puke
This ride leaves Te Puke Township and starts a very gentle climb into the country side, passing kiwifruit and
Avocado orchards then on to sheep and cattle country. Stopping at the end of the sealed road not far from the
bush line into the Otanewainuku bush ( very pleasant walks www.kiwitrust.org/walks ) On the way back a
fabulous down hill with sea views.
As with all road rides they are better started after everyone has gone to work and school. As this is Kiwifruit
country you will need to be mindful of pickers cars, tractors and bin trailers and trucks tending to the picking
season, March to end of May. Approx 1 hour 18mins and 16.5km ride up and 55 minutes returning down. The
road is all sealed.

Park and Start: Commerce Lane Car Park, Te Puke
Directions
Commerce Lane car park, there are toilets here and plenty of refreshment outlets in Te Puke. Ride out of the car
park around the tiny round about, turning right into Commerce lane ( toilets, car park and New World on your
right ) Left into Jocelyn St, straight through the roundabout on Jellicoe St, this is still Jocelyn St on the other
side, straight through the next round about, which flows into Boucher Ave and No 2 Rd. Ride to the end of the
seal approx. 16.5km. A small steep pinch before you get to the end.
Return the way you have ridden, turning right into No 1 Rd.( take note of where it is on your ride up ) At the
end of No 1 Rd, left into Jellicoe St for 550m, right into King St for 74m, left into Commerce Lane for 150m
and the car park and will be on your right.
